Its been a while
It’s definitely been a while and I did fall completely off the healthy lifestyle wagon but I had some really bad experiences that messed me up for a while. My best friend here in Memphis and someone I considered a truly great man succumbed to Mesothelioma which makes this blog and my transformation all the more important. Josh was a pretty awesome person and we shared a lot of wonderful experiences together. I’ll talk more about this in another post, but I was pretty much by his side for 5 months while he slowly changed from a vibrant healthy young man with so much life to, well he died.
I cannot use this as an excuse to gain everything back, which I did most of, but rather now I must use it as a path to better myself. I’m back on my juice fast and although I caught a most vicious cold/flu the last few days I will be heading back to the gym too. Today is my first whole day juicing again and I will do whatever it takes to take back my life and gain the upper hand on this.
On a side note I also started up my new business and its been taking up almost all of my day. I still work and have my full-time job but its going to be really nice to not have to feel indentured anymore. Servitude to promises never in your grasp, all the while making others rich is not for me. This is not to mention the nonsense I was put through.
Check out the new store: www.pheromoneXS.com. I’ll have my web designer build a little advertisement for the side bar so you can easily access it in the future. I don’t plan on going out much anymore as it always has led me to bad habits so instead I’m going to focus on writing more and restoring my health and building my business.

2/29/12 My Stats
SO today is DAY 30 of my juice fast and Leap Year.
- Weight: 285
- Neck: 17
- Arms: 16
- Chest: 49
- Belly: 53
- Hips: 46
- Thighs: 25
I started this journey at 330 pounds so my combined weight loss for 30 days of juice fasting is 45 pounds. I now have another 30 days to go after today. The cabin in the woods has been rented and my first meal off the fast is determined to be an apple:).
Juice Fast Day 28
I’ve been on the Juice Fast now for 28 days and while some days are just miserable, there seems to be more highs than lows now. I still get bouts of debilitating pain that essentially cripples me for a solid few days at a time, but after each bout I tend to feel more healthier than ever. I am not sure this is something everybody can do, but if you have the right mindset you can do anything. Finally I am doing something to change my lifestyle and the changes are taking.
I’ve lost quite a bit already on this journey. When I started I was 330 pounds and when I weighed myself yesterday I was 289. For anyone not willing or able to count that is 41 pounds that I have let go of. I assess that I was holding onto them like a security blanket. In a term most men can understand that’s 2 cases of beer cans (24) or for my English friends just about 3 stones. It’s no wonder I still have good knees! My back has been feeling better and better every day and today is actually day 75 since I said goodbye to pain pills forever.
As I continue my journey it gets easier and easier every day. Yesterday I make an organic Hot and Sour soup (sans any meat), fried veggie brown rice and crispy orange beef for my dad, who swears it was the BEST he has ever tasted. Its amazing when you have the right ingredients all fresh and organic. The beef is from US Wellness Meats which by everyone who has had the pleasure to taste it: The BEST grass-fed free range beef ever tasted! I had a nitrate free hotdog before I started my diet and OMG was it lovely. Ingredients really make you understand what you have been doing to yourself.
I went to the Cooper Young Farmers market on Saturday to Pick up some farm-fresh organic veggies. I was a bit disappointed that Downing Hollow Farms was on vacation, but I managed to get some Kale and sweet potatoes.
I have a weekend of meditation and introspection planned on my Juice fast break day of March 31 in Natchez Trace State Park. Rented a cabin in the woods by a lake so I can enjoy nature and contemplate my new Healthy Life Transformation.
One thing I thought I’d miss, and admittedly a bit difficult when I first started, was all the junk food. Now when I see a commercial it really disgusts me and I find myself nearly gagging. I’ll just never eat that crap again. Life has changed:)
